Sejarah [History]

Dahulu ketika Belanda melakukan invasi ke Indonesia, diketahui banyak ulama Islam yang “menepi” ke area timur Yogyakarta, yang salah satunya adalah area Payak saat ini. Kata “Payak” sendiri berasal dari sebuah frasa Arab “Kun Fayakun” yang memiliki arti “Jadilah! Maka akan terjadi”.
Sebagai tempat dimana banyak ulama jaman dahulu pernah tinggal, para penduduk Payak terlihat begitu menggiati sisi pendidikan. Seiring berjalannya waktu, hampir semua generasi muda Payak kini dapat mengenyam tingkat pendidikan yang baik. Bahkan, Payak telah memiliki TK dan SD sendiri.

Once when Dutch made an invasion to Indonesia, many of Muslim clerics were hide themselves in the east area of Yogyakarta. The place called nowadays Payak is also one of the area where the clerics went. They then applying their skills and knowledge, and then build a place, called Payak. Word “Payak” itself is derived for an Arabian phrase “Kun Fayakun” which means “Happen! And it will be happen”
As one of the area where old clerics ever lived, Payak villagers seemed that have high attention on education. As the time goes by, most Payak youngsters now are all well educated, and even have their own pre-school and elementary school.
